2024 5th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Medical Sciences (ISAIMS 2024)

From August 13 to 17, 2024, The 5th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Medical Sciences (ISAIMS 2024) was successfully held at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, co-hosted by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Nexus Press, and Wuhan University of Science and Technology, with support from the AEIC Academic Exchange Center. The conference featured in-depth academic exchanges on various topics, including "Artificial Intelligence and Mental Health," "Smart Wearable Devices," and "Intelligent Diagnosis and Treatment."
The conference was chaired by Professor Huang Zhisheng from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, who also delivered the opening remarks.

The conference specially invited several experts to deliver excellent keynote presentations, including Professor Ronald Cornet, a professor, chief researcher, and chief educator at the Department of Medical Informatics of the Public Health Research Institute at Amsterdam University Medical Center; Professor Zhao Xudong, honorary director of the Tongji University Psychiatric Center; Professor Shi Jieyao from Suzhou Vocational University; Professor Sun Mei, deputy dean of Xiangya Nursing School at Central South University; and Director Qin Hongyun from the Tongji University Psychiatric Center.
The conference attracted nearly 6,000 participants online and over 80 representatives in person, with attendees from various countries including China, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Kuwait, and the United States.

On October 26, 2024, The 5th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Medical Sciences (ISAIMS 2024) , co-hosted by Wuhan University of Science and Technology and Amsterdam University, was successfully held at Huangjiahu Campus of Wuhan University of Science and Technology. The conference was supported by Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Oncology Special Committee of the Henan Association of Integrative Medicine, the Esophageal Cancer Special Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and the AEIC Academic Exchange Center, among others.
In the opening remarks, Professor Lu Yong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, and Professor Huang Zhisheng from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam warmly welcomed all the guests. During the conference, Professors Wu Jian and Xu Yingke from Zhejiang University, Professor Yang Jie from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and Professor Guo Xiaomei from Tongji Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology shared their latest research results and experiences, delivering captivating keynote presentations for the conference.
The conference specially set up a thematic forum on "New Challenges of Medical Artificial Intelligence in Research and Application." In the forum, computer science experts Professor Yang Jie and Professor Huang Zhisheng, along with Professor Guo Xiaomei from the medical field, and Associate Director Zong Xiaofen from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University and Professor Zhou Qi from Tianyou Hospital of Wuhan University of Science and Technology engaged in in-depth dialogue and exchange. The atmosphere of communication was lively, and the broad discussions greatly promoted collaboration and innovation across disciplines.
The conference attracted approximately 100 experts and scholars from universities and enterprises, with 20 outstanding scholars delivering oral presentations. Additionally, the conference awarded 10 prizes for Excellent Papers and Excellent Oral Presentations to recognize the exceptional contributions of scholars who performed well during the event.
